The Rushmore Plaza Civic Center offers a wide variety of spaces for you to enjoy or host your event.

Ice Arena

Our Ice Arena boasts a permanent ice floor for activities such as skating and professional hockey, but can be adapted with temporary flooring to also allow use for trade shows and conventions.  The Ice Arena provides 28,000 square feet of convention space, up to 5,000 seats for Hockey and 7,400 seats for a concert.   

Convention Space

When it comes to planning a convention in the Black Hills, the Rushmore Plaza Civic Center is the best choice. With over 200,000 sq. ft. of space, and over a dozen different sized rooms, not only will you find us the perfect meeting facility, but our staff can also provide you with many special services, including our full service catering.

• Rushmore Hall
  Need 41,000 square feet of open space for your trade show? Then Rushmore Hall is the location for you. Also used for concerts, auctions, sporting events, and banquets, Rushmore Hall can be partitioned off into several smaller sections to suit your needs.
• LaCroix Hall
  Located in the center of the main floor of the complex, LaCroix Hall is the perfect setting for banquets, wedding receptions, small trade shows, or business meetings. Fully opened, the Hall contains over 15,000 square feet, but can be subdivided into two or four separate rooms.
• Meeting Rooms
  The Rushmore Plaza Civic Center has numerous meeting rooms, on both levels that can host groups ranging from 10 to 450 attendees. No matter what the size of your event, one of these rooms will fit your needs. 

Don Barnett Arena

With 34,500 square feet of uninterrupted space, the Barnett Arena is a superb convention facility that can comfortably seat over 9,400 reserved or up to 10,400 festival for a concert. From basketball to indoor football, from concerts to the circus, from car shows to conventions or rodeos, monster trucks, banquets, trade shows and more. The arena is truly a multi-use facility.

The fully trained, in-house ushering and T-shirt event staff is seasoned and skilled at providing the necessary man power for each event. The staff wears colorful event staffing uniforms and is familiar with the facility, grounds and the policies of the Civic Center. Police and armed security are supplied through the Rapid City Police Department.

Theatre

With state-of-the-art sound, lighting, and technical capabilities, the newly remodeled Theatre comfortably accommodates everything from touring Broadway productions to local dance school recitals. Each of the 1700+ seats enjoys a clear and close-up view of the stage, and the acoustics are second to none.
