This Saturday, January 25th SPANK! is bringing loads of laughs to the Theatre with side-splitting entertainment. Based on the Fifty Shades of Grey trilogy by British author E.L. James, the original 2011 series depicts a sensual romance between a college graduate and a young businessman. Suitable for mature audiences only, SPANK! is being called The Fifty Shades Parody and brings hysterical comedy to the best-selling book, live on stage.

Get ready for a new imagining of the characters that readers have come to know so well. Brought to life through sharp-witted comedy, musical numbers, sexy striptease performances from the leading hunk and lots of surprises, you won’t be able to forget SPANK! Also taking place this weekend is the Rapid City Soft Tip League Shoot Out from Friday, January 24th through Sunday, January 26th. The tournament will be held in LaCroix Hall and will showcase the talents of several local darts players, so be sure to come out and show your support.

After a heated series against the Denver Cutthroats, the Rapid City Rush are at home once again as they take on the Wichita Thunder. This season has been a wildly entertaining one, so get your tickets today. Also taking place during Friday night’s game is Pink at the Rink in support of the fight against cancer. The Rush will wear pink jerseys and auction them off after the game, with all proceeds benefiting the Regional Cancer Care Institute. Go Rush!

If you’re looking for family fun this weekend, Disney Live! Mickey’s Music Festival is the perfect solution! Mickey Mouse and friends will rock out with the stars from The Little Mermaid, Aladdin, and Disney/Pixar’s Toy Story in their newest touring show. It’s an evening of nonstop entertainment for everyone as Disney hits are remixed to the hottest sounds of today, featuring hip hop, pop, swing, reggae, rock, country and more. The lineup of performers will include Mickey, Minnie, Donald and Goofy, Ariel, Sebastian and Ursula, Jasmine, Aladdin and Genie, and Woody, Buzz and Jessie. Continuing with the family-friendly fun, the Black Hills Wildfire presents Blizzard Bash this Saturday, January 25th at 6:00 pm in Rushmore Hall. It’s the first double header bout of the year, featuring everyone’s favorite roller derby girls from around the Black Hills, and even some talent from neighboring states. Get ready for fast-paced action and good times for everyone during this weekend’s roller derby.

For Both the Body and Mind

This weekend, we’re gearing up for a healthy summer season with events that emphasize the importance of a healthy body and mind. What better time of year to get off the sofa and into a get-fit attitude! With showers in the forecast, it’s a great way to stay active while the weather takes a break from sunny skies.

Martial Arts Tournament
April 28th, 10am – 6pm
Presented by Dynamic Martial Arts, this weekend’s tournament will feature over 70 divisions including Forms, Point-Sparring, Grappling and No-Gi Grappling. 16 Grand Champion Awards will be given out, plus thousands of dollars in trophies and prizes, including tournament scholarships. Visit Rushmore Hall this Saturday to support a true showcase of discipline, skill, and leadership. Admission is $5 for adults, $2 for kids 12 and under, or $15 for a family pass.

BH Wholistic Health Expo
April 28th, 10am – 6pm, April 29th, 10am – 5pm
Are you feeling stressed? Have a couple of extra pounds you’d like to shed, or a nagging ache that just won’t go away? The Wholistic Health Expo aims to help educate visitors about alternative health care, and ways we can all play a bigger part in our own wellness. With a wide variety of booths staffed by regional healthcare practitioners and business owners, it’s the perfect opportunity to get answers to all of your health-related questions. Admission is free, however some booths may charge on an individual basis.

Black Hills Dance Festival
April 26th through April 28th
Shimmy into the 16th Annual Black Hills Dance Festival! It’s the premier showcase of Ballroom, Country, Latin, and Line Dancing with a weekend of dance workshops, dance performances, mixed with fun social dancing. Learn from professional instructors or simply enjoy the weekend as a spectator. Both experienced and non-experienced dancers are welcome, so grab your dancing shoes and make your way to the Civic Center!
