The QR Code Craze Continues – With Prize Winners!

A couple of weeks ago we posted a blog on the QR Code craze at the Civic Center, and promised our followers that there would be a forthcoming bonus for scanning the codes. That opportunity has arrived, and it’s incredibly simple to win with a simple click on your smart phone!

New to the QR Code scene? Let’s get you up to speed…QR Codes are small, fuzzy looking square boxes that are currently being displayed on Box Office windows at the Civic Center. All you need to scan them is a smart phone and a QR Code Reader Application. (BWScan has proven to be a good one.) Simply point your phone, scan, and you will be directed to a website.

Then, let the fun begin! If you are one of our lucky winners, you will be notified of your prize once you have scanned the code. In order to redeem your loot, enter your name and email address, then present a valid ID at either of the Box Offices. Even if you’re not a winner, you will gain valuable ticket sales information where you can easily purchase seats for upcoming events. It’s a win-win scan!

Some concert go-ers have recently found themselves “all dolled up with nowhere to go.” Why? They’ve made the mistake of purchasing event tickets from fraudulent websites that sell invalid tickets. To avoid making the same mistake and being turned away at the door, the Civic Center offers a strong word of advice:

Always purchase your tickets directly from the gotmine.com website. This will ensure that they are legitimate. Scalper websites may look safe enough, but unless you’re on the gotmine.com website you should be weary. Many fraudulent sites appear in the sponsored section at the top of a Google search, and may claim to offer tremendous deals or hard to get seats. Customers should disregard this false advertising, as many have found themselves out a bundle of cash, as well as a seat.

Online ticket scalping is on the rise across the United States. Don’t be disappointed at the door with the discovery that your ticket is invalid. Purchase from gotmine.com, where your official ticket will ensure a saved seat, as well as an evening of quality entertainment.

At the Rushmore Plaza Civic Center, we’re all about making your life simple – short and sweet, if you will. That’s why we are continuously enhancing the functionality and features of our online ticket purchasing. Upgrades, seat views, gift cards…the possibilities are endless!

Ready to get your Rush on? Visitors now have the ability to choose a “view from seat” option to find out exactly what kind of view their spot will have. There are also convenient and clickable maps for each section of the arena. Additionally, customized maps for each event will display pricing levels according to seating area.

Going out with a large group? Our search across multiple rows will find the best seats to accommodate your clan, such as four seats in one row and four seats behind. Customers are also able to purchase ADA seats online, and print tickets directly from home. If you’re struggling to come up with a holiday gift for that special someone, consider a gift card which can be purchased directly from our website. You also have the ability to purchase multiple events simultaneously, or renew or upgrade to a season package.

The QR Quest!

No, you don’t need to schedule an appointment with your ophthalmologist – those boxes are supposed to be fuzzy! They’re QR codes, and they’re taking over the Civic Center!

You’ve probably seen them turning up all over town. Typically black in color and square in shape, QR codes are becoming more prevalent on billboards, business cards, trucks, newsletters, ticket stubs – you name it! They’re incredibly easy to use, and can save you a load of time and energy searching for information. All you need is an internet enabled mobile device with a QR code reader application. (There are several available, but one we like is called BWScan.) Once you’ve got the app installed on your phone, simply point it at the QR code and scan, then watch as you are taken to a website, video, MP3 file…you never know where the code might go!

Keep your eyes peeled as we integrate QR codes around our facility. Doors, windows, pillars and easels are all fair game for QR code displays. Several of them will lead to a ticket sales page, so that you can quickly purchase your seat for upcoming events. And some may even contain a hidden surprise, just for scanning!
