Several years ago in a Muppet movie, Kermit the Frog tugged at our hearts by crooning "It's not easy being green." At that time no one could have predicted that being "green" in today's world is not only popular, but necessary.
We at the Rushmore Plaza Civic Center are doing our part, and you're helping us every time you attend an event here. All of our many public venues -- Don Barnett Arena, Ice Arena, Rushmore Hall, Fine Arts Theatre, and LaCroix Hall -- are equipped with recycling stations for glass, aluminum cans, and plasticware. At every concert and show we post signs at these locations to encourage our patrons to join us in our recycling efforts, and most are happy to do so.
In our employee-only areas (commissary, offices, employee lunch room, etc.) we also have recycling stations and signs urging everyone to "Help Keep Rapid City Green."
Thanks for your contributions to this effort. Whenever you're in our facility and have something to throw away that could be recycled, please look for the appropriate waste bins (see photos) and help us in our resource conservation efforts. Working together, we can "Keep Rapid City Green" for many future generations.
